All the processes of sex, from sexual excitement to orgasm, all involve blood flow You can’t get a hard penis without blood flow, you cannot have the female orgasm, which takes a tremendous amount of blood and flushes it into the walls of the vagina and the musculature.

Without blood flow to the right areas, a woman or a man can’t perform sexually. So anything that will increase blood, flow to your extremities is going to increase your ability to have sex.

There are several ways your readers can use cayenne to increase their sexual enjoyment. First, they can take a big dose of cayenne tincture or powder a half hour or an hour before sex. But not so much powder that you get cramps. Don’t do it on an empty stomach. It gives a blast of energy nothing else does.

Sexual excitement is why many religious and new age groups are against spices. A lot of groups have said this about garlic and a lot of them have said it about chili too.

BISER: I didn’t realize that some religious groups were against cayenne pepper. I thought everyone was in favor of it.

SCHULZE: No, they are not. Two big things many religious groups are against are garlic and cayenne. They say these two heat the genitals.

They make you get more “hard-ons” and you want to have sex more often. I don’t think it’s natural to suppress sexuality, but imagine you’re in some monastery with 40 guys; they are all supposed to be praying, and instead they all have boners.

I’ve even been thrown out of some restaurants for bringing in my own chili and garlic. Whenever I traveled, I used to bring along some nutritional things, like a food first-aid bag. This would be a good idea for anyone who travels.

My bag had in it my cayenne pepper, my garlic, my spirulina, and my nutritional yeast. I could go into a steak place, and get a baked potato and turn it into gorgeous healthy meal by adding my stuff.

But many times, when I did this in restaurants run by these religious groups, they would come over to the table and say, “No spices.” Not just garlic, hut any heating spices.

BISER: Wait a minute. What kind of restaurant?

SCHULZE: I’ve been thrown out of Indian restaurants in India.

BISER: I thought they used cayenne.

SCHULZE: They do, but some certain religious groups ban spices, especially heating spices like cayenne and garlic.

What they mean by “heating” is that hot spices will heat your genitals.

So, if you are a member of these groups, I’d stop using cayenne, because it will definitely turn you on sexually and in every other way

On the other hand, when all my patients were on their death beds, their biggest complaint was they didn’t get enough sex. So I think your readers would be interested in this.

Beets as a strong cancer fighter!

Beets are one of nature’s wonder foods. They’ve recently been found to increase stamina during exercise by 16 percent and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Beets are known to break up cancers and tumors, and they’re known to do so faster than the body can eliminate them.

In fact, in the 1950′s, Dr. Ferenczi of Csoma, Hungary used beets exclusively to break up tumors in the body. He had considerable success, and tumors were often completely eliminated. However, he found if patients stopped drinking quantities of beet juice, tumors often reappeared. Dr. Ferenczi recommended drinking about a quarter gallon (2.2 lbs) of beet juice daily to break up tumors, and results were often seen in a few weeks or months.

Because beets can break up tumors so rapidly, it’s wise to combine this therapy with other detoxification methods, like colon and liver cleansing, to help your body dispose of the waste released when cancers are broken down.

The key cancer fighting ingredient in beets is called betacyanin; it’s what gives red beets their bright purple reddish color. Beets have also been found to increase detoxifying compounds in the body and make it easier for the body to detoxify itself in general. This, of course, adds to health.

Knowing this, perhaps you’ll want to start consuming beets regularly? Juiced beets are great, and you can add sliced raw beets to any salad. Cooked beets are also a fabulous side dish or main meal.

To make delicious beets, just boil whole beets for about 40 minutes or until a fork can slide through them. Then just drain, slice and drizzle olive oil over them. Sprinkle with sea salt and for added flavor and nutritional benefits, chop and toss some fresh green onion and organic cilantro over the top.

Three or four large beets make a tasty meal, while one or two make a great side dish.

An estimated forty percent of the population is expected to have a problem with cancer, and tumors often grow for twenty years before they are diagnosed. Eating beets a couple of times a week, or more, can offer considerable protection from this serious problem.

Remember that only red beets will do the trick, and be sure they’re organic. These days some beets are genetically altered, and genetically modified plants don’t know how not to cross pollinate with neighboring varieties. Of course, nothing genetically altered will make you well; genetically modified foods will only make you sick.

Never do Liver/ Gallbladder Flush until you read this!

Cleansing the liver of gallstones dramatically improves digestion, which is the basis of your whole health. You can expect your allergies to disappear, too, more with each cleanse you do! Incredibly, it also eliminates shoulder, upper arm, and upper back pain. You have more energy and an increased sense of well being.


There are a few different methods of LV/GB Flush by Hulda Clark, Andreas Moritz, Dr. Monus and others. I personally follow instruction by Dr. Monus, anyways they ALL WORK!I have done 5 consequent Flushes in a period of 3 month so far. I feel great after each flush. My energy skyrockets, my head becomes clear, a sense of well-being and joy takes place of mood swings. I am dedicated to flush till I have no more stones.

I did become sick 3 times out of 5 flushes till I learned my mistakes and found  ways to trap the released toxins and prevent them from entering the blood stream.

Rule # 1.

Do NOT eat anything 16 hours before the flush! If you do—you will get sick and you will be vomiting after oil/grapefruit juice mixture ingestion!


Rule # 2.

Take activated charcoal or any other detox supplement, containing activated charcoal + bentonite clay 30 -40 minutes after oil/grapefruit juice mixture ingestion to trap the released toxins and prevent them from entering the blood stream.

 Rule # 3.

Have your coffee enema handy! If you do get sick (fever, headache, sweats, racing heart rate – signs of hight toxicity level), have an enema right away! You might need to have 2 or more enemas to release all the toxins from your colon. You will feel relief right away and signs of sickness will be gone at a finger snap! Try to get a colonic after to make sure all toxins are flushed out!

“To permanently cure bursitis, back pain, allergies, or other health problems, and to prevent diseases from arising, you need to remove all the stones. This may require at least 8 to 12 flushes, which can be performed at three-week or monthly intervals. (Do not flush more frequently than that!)

The three-week break between flushes may include the six-day preparation for the next liver flush, but most ideally, it should start after the three weeks have passed. If you cannot flush this often, you may take more time between flushes. The important thing to remember is that once you have started cleansing the liver, you should keep cleansing it until no more stones come out during two consecutive flushes. Leaving the liver half clean for a long period of time (three or more months) may cause greater discomfort than not cleansing it at all. The liver, as a whole, will begin to function more efficiently soon after the first flush, and you may notice sudden improvements, sometimes within several hours. Pains will lessen, energy will increase, and clarity of mind will improve considerably. However, within a few days, stones from the rear of the liver will have traveled ‘forward’ toward the two main bile ducts (hepatic ducts) in the liver, which may cause some or all of the previous symptoms of discomfort to return. In fact, you might feel disappointed because the recovery seems so short-lived. Yet all of this merely indicates that some stones were left behind, ready to be removed with the next round of cleansing.

Nevertheless, the liver’s self-repair and cleansing responses will have increased significantly, adding a great deal of effectiveness to this extremely important organ of the body. As long as there are still a few small stones traveling from some of the thousands of small bile ducts to any of the hundreds of larger bile ducts, they may combine to form larger stones and produce previously experienced symptoms, such as backache, headache, ear ache, digestive trouble, bloating, irritability, anger, and so forth, although these may be less severe than they were before.

If two consecutive new cleanses no longer produce any stones, which may happen after 6 to 8 flushes (in severe cases it may take 10 to 12 or more), your liver can be considered ‘stone-free’. Nevertheless, it is recommended that you repeat the liver flush every six to eight months. Each flush will give a further boost to the liver and take care of any toxins or new stones that may have accumulated in the meantime.

Caution: Never cleanse when you are suffering an acute illness, even if it is just a simple cold. If you suffer from a chronic illness, however, cleansing your liver may be the best thing you can do for yourself.”

What about yin and yang and the role they play in our sexual health? Don’t worry, Jill Blakeway is here to help. Jill is the author of Making Babies, a licensed and board certified acupuncturist, herbalist, and founder of NYC’s YinOva Center, and she tells us how Chinese medicine can help heat things up in the bedroom.

MBG: How can acupuncture help one’s libido?

JB: Acupuncture has an effect on the neurological system, the endocrine system and the cardiovascular system, all of which are involved in sexual response. There is a long history in Chinese medicine of using acupuncture and Chinese herbs to increase sexual desire and performance. At the YinOva Center, there are herbs we use to treat erectile dysfunction, for example. And for women who have trouble reaching orgasm, we use acupuncture to move Qi in the channels. Unfortunately these problems are fairly common in our practice, but happily, we can treat them quite successfully.

What are the ways that you’d categorize lack of libido?

The problems women have with their sex life can be divided into four areas:
Lack of desire
Lack of arousal
Failure to orgasm
Pain or discomfort with intercourse
Each of these areas have different diagnoses in Chinese medicine and are treated with a different combination of herbs and regular acupuncture treatments.

Lack of libido in women is usually diagnosed as weak kidney Qi and heart blood deficiency. The kidneys are considered to be the root of reproductive energy, and the emotions as reflected by the heart also play a vital role in female sexuality. So to nourish both the heart and the kidneys, we use a combination of herbs.

Lack of arousal is also related to weak kidney energy but in this case, it is attributed to weak kidney yin. Yin is what gives our bodies lubrication. At the YinOva Center, we have found that giving our patients herbs to tonify kidney yin can really help our female patients become more easily aroused.

Failure to orgasm is related to stagnation, more specifically, stagnation of liver Qi. In Chinese medicine the liver channel flows through the genitals and the liver is responsible for the smooth flow of energy throughout the body. Lack of orgasm is related to an interruption in this energy flow. We give these patients Qi-moving herbs which can help a great deal.

Painful intercourse is also related to stagnation in Chinese medicine – blood stagnation. As in Western medicine where painful intercourse is associated with a diagnosis of endometriosis or fibroids, in Chinese medicine the pain is attributed to some kind of local obstruction. We give these patients blood moving herbs as well as referring them to their GYN for further investigation.

Yin and yang — what do they mean and why are they so important?

Yin refers to our body’s substance and describes the way our body is nourished, moistened and cooled. Its functions include how receptive we are.

Yang refers to our body’s energy and describes the way our body creates movement and transformation. Its functions include our ability to initiate.

To be healthy sexually, our bodies need a balance of yin and yang and also in our relationships, we need balance between yin and yang. The whole act of having sex is a complex interplay of yin and yang in Chinese medicine.

• Initiating sex requires yang energy from either partner

• Being receptive to this initiation and transforming it into something mutual requires yin energy from the other partner

• The man’s erection is yang

• The woman’s ability to receive is yin

From here, lovemaking contains an interplay of yin and yang, or giving and receiving. This is true for gay and lesbian couples as well as for straight couples.

In my experience, relationships with an imbalance of yin and yang emotionally often result in sexual problems. So if one partner is very dominant and one very yielding, the resulting imbalance of yin and yang can lead to problems in the bedroom. Chinese medicine teaches us to first find balance within ourselves and then strive for balance in our relationships. This is echoed in modern psychology, where patients are taught to differentiate themselves in order to be able to merge healthily as a couple.

Can you explain Qi and the role it plays in sex?

Qi is often translated as “life force” and is best summed up by its functions. It refers to all the ways our body is dynamic in that Qi is said to create warmth, movement, transformation, protection and retention. Qi can get weak when we get run down, which can lead to low libido or erectile dysfunction. Qi can also become stagnant — this can lead to problems with orgasm or premature ejaculation.

What are 3-5 foods that you’d recommend?

Warming and pungent foods help the body’s yang energy so I would suggest ginger, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper.

Cooling nourishing foods support the body’s yin energy so I would suggest deep sea and cold water fish, including salmon, sardines, and shellfish. The omega-3 fatty acids in these fish are also good for one’s sexual health.

What’s one thing someone can do right now to spice up their Valentine’s day?

Stop worrying about performance and focus on the energetic connection with your partner. We are constantly bombarded with sexual images in the media. They make sex into something most of us feel we can’t live up to. However, sex is about intimacy and connection. In Chinese medicine this energetic connection is considered to be a spiritual experience. It is a way of understanding oneness with the divine through connection to another human being.

The first step towards achieving an energetic connection with your partner is to focus on each other and block out distractions. The simplest way to do this is to synchronize your breathing rhythms. Begin by lying comfortably on your sides, facing each other, your hand on his chest and his on yours. Look into each other’s eyes to increase intimacy and connection, and take slow, deep breaths together until your breathing matches up effortlessly. If your mind wanders, bring it back to the present and focus on what you are feeling; focus on being with your partner. This simple act helps you to experience connection and establishes a slow steady pace from which to begin lovemaking.

Another useful exercise, rather than breathing in unison, is when one inhales as the other exhales and vice versa. This give and take action mimics the interplay of yin and yang during sex and sets the tone for the energetic give and take to come.

As the saying goes, “time heals all wounds.” But what if you have been suffering with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity (GS) for decades and just want to feel better today? Besides a gluten-free diet, is there anything else you can do to enhance the healing process?

 

After receiving a celiac or GS diagnosis, most patients leave their doctor’s office with instructions to adhere to a strict gluten-free diet — and that’s it. While it’s wonderful to have a definitive diagnosis and not to have to take medication for the rest of your life, it’s also important to know that there are powerful over-the-counter tools at your disposal.

I frequently encourage newly diagnosed clients to start a course of nutritional supplements for six months to a year depending on the severity of their condition. Not only do the nutritional supplements listed below promote intestinal health and healing, they can actually accelerate your recovery.

 

Without a small intestine biopsy, it is difficult to estimate how ravaged your intestines are. Since biopsies are no longer required to diagnose celiac disease, most newly diagnosed patients are in the dark about the condition of their digestive track. According to the National Institutes of Health, diet alone will heal existing intestinal damage and prevent further damage. Yet, the amount of time it takes to heal completely varies depending on a number of factors, particularly age. For example, in children, the small intestine can take three to six months to heal; however, in adults, it may take several years before healing is complete.

 

While waiting for the gut to heal, many of the nutrients you consume are lost. A healthy intestine has an abundance of villi (tiny, finger-like projections that increase the intestinal surface area), which allows for the absorption of nutrients into the bloodstream. With celiac disease these villi are flattened and proper absorption of nutrients is compromised. The continued malabsorption of nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, vitamin D, B vitamins, and omega-3 fatty acids can contribute to mood disorders, lower energy levels, poor bone health, insomnia, attention problems, and a host of other issues.

 

Until recently, conventional medical wisdom presumed that only those with celiac disease suffered from severe intestinal degradation, the kind that destroys your villi. In the spring of 2011, however, Dr. Alessio Fasano completed a research study that found differences in levels of intestinal permeability and the expression of genes regulating the immune responses in the gut mucosa possibly associated with gluten sensitivity. What this study revealed is that gluten sensitivity and celiac disease are part of the same spectrum of gluten-related disorders. Meaning that those with gluten sensitivity suffer from intestinal permeability issues similar to those with celiac disease, but to a lesser degree. In other words, people with gluten sensitivity — not just those with celiac disease — have absorption issues caused by an immune response to gluten.

 

For the people with celiac disease and gluten sensitivity who more than likely have intestinal inflammation and permeability issues, the question remains: “How to return the digestive track back to normal as quickly as possible?”

 

Nutrition Supplements to Support Healing

 

The following nutrition supplements are effective and work independently of each other. These supplements also complement each other, so taking them together can help heal many aspects of the gut at once. In my experience as a Registered Dietitian working with patients who are afflicted with gluten issues, I have found that glutamine, probiotics, and fish oil (in that order) are my “Top Three” choices. Before you begin taking these, or any supplements, I encourage you to have a consultation with a dietitian who has experience with gluten disorders.

 

Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body. It is a protein building block and is involved in more metabolic processes than any other amino acid. Glutamine also serves as a source of fuel for the cells lining the intestine and can promote healing in these cells when they are damaged by gluten. How much Glutamine you should take depends upon several factors. I suggest you consult a dietitian for the dosage that is right for you.

 

Probiotics are live bacteria that improve the intestinal microbial balance and enhance overall health. They are the “good” bacteria found in the gastrointestinal track. Inflammation or toxins in the gut can disrupt the balance between “good” and “bad” bacteria. Probiotics may be taken to restore a healthy balance and assist in the removal of toxins created by gluten insensitivity or celiac disease. In addition, a preventative dose of probiotics is a good idea as these microbes promote immune health, and they are frequently absent in modern diets. Probiotics come as capsules, tablets, liquids, powders and contain many different strains of bacteria. Be sure to purchase your probiotics from a reputable company that ensures the potency and efficacy of their products. Contact these companies for documentation stating probiotic viability and research studies using the strains in their formulas — or visit their websites. I normally recommend that my patients receive a daily dose of at least 10 billion (or more) live, viable, organisms per gram containing: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus bifidobacteria, Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus.

 

Omega 3 fatty acids are comprised of the fatty acids EPA and DHA and are found in fish and fish oil supplements. These essential fats are not made by the body and must be eaten or taken in supplement form to ensure the body’s adequate functioning. In addition to reducing inflammation, these fats help to support healthy heart, brain, skin, and bone function. Significant health problems may result when these nutrients are not adequately absorbed. I recommend a dosage of 1,000 mg EPA and 1,000 mg DHA be taken daily from a high quality product with low mercury and toxin levels.

 

Digestive enzymes aid the body in digesting and breaking down proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Digestive enzymes from either animal or plant sources should be taken an empty stomach, 20 minutes before meals or snacks. Enzymes help break down food into forms that the body can use. When the gut is damaged a condition called “leaky gut syndrome” occurs, and undigested food particles can pass through the intestinal wall into the blood stream in a form the body cannot use. These unusable food particles then activate an immune response because the body has detected an “invader.” This immune response adds inflammation to the ongoing food sensitivity issues. Digestive enzymes assist in breaking food down into the right form for the body to use. In general, plant- or microbial-derived enzymes are more effective and work in more areas of your digestive system than their animal-derived counterparts.

 

Anti-inflammatory herbal formulas can help reduce inflammation and promote healing. Look for herbs like turmeric, aloe vera, ginger, and boswellia in formulas or by themselves as a part of your healing regime. Again, working with a dietitian to decide dosages and which combination of these herbs would be most beneficial to you is recommended.

 

What to Consider if You Are Not Getting Better

 

There are some people with celiac disease that show no improvement on a gluten-free diet. One of the most common reasons for a poor response to the diet is that small amounts of gluten are still being consumed. Hidden sources of gluten include medications, additives such as modified food starch, preservatives, and stabilizers made with wheat. Additionally, those with severe sensitivities may not be healing because of cross contamination caused by production facilities. Most corn and rice products are produced in factories that also manufacture wheat products. For some people, even these minute amounts of cross contamination can add up. Some people should only consume packaged foods from GF certified facilities, or in extreme cases, consume no packaged foods at all.

 

Some people with celiac disease continue to have intestinal flare ups despite being on a strict gluten-free diet. People with this condition, known as refractory celiac disease, have severely damaged intestines that heal very slowly — if at all. Because their intestines are not absorbing enough nutrients, these celiac sufferers may need to receive many of their nutrients intravenously.

 

Cross reactivity to some gluten-free grains can also be a problem. Intolerances to grains that do not contain gluten, which people on gluten-free diet tend to eat more of, can also develop. Many times these secondary intolerances develop because of gut permeability and the body’s response to foreign material outside the gut lining, where it is not suppose to be. This test will help you identify and avoid other foods that are preventing you from healing and feeling better.

 

In my experience, time does heal these wounds, but the amount of time varies widely from person to person. I have seen many people’s symptoms — in particular, severe cases that have gone unresolved for decades — abate faster and more thoroughly thanks to additional supplementation. Any time the gut has undergone stress, the supplements mentioned above can be of benefit — and always be mindful when purchasing supplements to be sure they are gluten-free.
