Self-Discipline is Your Greatest  Power!

Do you know that 80 percent of the population never takes any responsibility for their own life, for the actions and consequences. They blame everybody else around, and in fact they even blame things for their misfortunes, and make all kind of excuses for why they are not happy, not successful, not healthy, not fit, you get the picture. Those people tell themselves, one day I will take care of my finances, one day I’ll get fit, one day I’ll quite smoking, one day… The road one day leads to town called No where, and either you do it NOW or one day will never come, my friend. Become the elite 20 percent of the population, stop making excuses, design your own life! Losers make excuses; winners make progress.

Very few people who achieved great success in life started off with many favorable advantages. As you already know, I came to this country with $500 dollars to my name and a small suitcase: no family, no friends, no job, no papers, barely any English. Do you think it was easy for me to get to where I am right now? Hell no! I went through so many challenges that shaped me to the woman I am today. And one most important thing on the way to make success was self-discipline. I did not have the time to make excuses; I just did whatever needed to be done.

It is Friday night, and I am sitting and writing this book, because I have a mission, a purpose. 80 percent of the population is in the bars, nightclubs or other parties numbing themselves with alcohol and drugs, while 20 percent are working on self-mastery. By continually demanding more of yourself you can and you will become the person you’ve always dreamed to be. The difference between losers and winners is that losers keep dreaming, and winners take actions. And you can’t take actions without mastering self-discipline. Self-discipline is the key to success and outstanding life! It is up to you, my friend, if you rise above and beyond your own talents and abilities or if you stay at the level of mediocrity.

I have been constantly improving myself, learning and feeding my mind with books, seminars, audio programs, and coaching sessions. I have learned one important thing about success.  Success is ONLY possible when you become the master of your own  mind and body, when you can control your emotions, thoughts, your food cravings, diet, your exercise routine, your mood and mindset. Your ability to control your actions and re-actions, what you say and how you say, what you think and what meanings you assign to each and every event in your life.

Self-discipline means getting up earlier than an average person does, training your body more than an average person does, learning, studying, reading, creating MORE than an average person does. Because when you do an average job, you will get an average result. Like it or not it’s inevitable. Self-discipline starts with your physical body, what you put in it, how you exhaust it, what you demand out of it. And the way your body looks right now, today, is a direct reflection of your standards. Average standards—average body – average life. Raise your standards, my friends!

Self-discipline is not easy at the beginning but extremely rewarding in long run. You literally deny yourself of easy pleasures, destructive behaviors, and temptations that give you instant satisfaction. It applies to all areas of your life: finance, career, relationships, health, fitness, wellbeing, and happiness. Your ability to do what has to be done before what’s fun and easy is the master key to creating an extraordinary future. Herbert Grey, a successful entrepreneur, conducted a study to find a “common denominator of success”. He stated, “Successful people make a habit of doing the things that unsuccessful people don’t like to do.” In fact, successful people do not like doing those things either, but they do them anyways to enjoy greater quality of life in the future. You absolutely must do the things that average people do not like to do.

Whatever you do repeatedly becomes a habit. You need 21 days to form a new habit of doing it every single day. You can choose to take it easy, relax, watch some TV, eat unhealthy foods for an instant gratification, which will lead to weakness of your character, underachievement and failure. Or you can choose self-discipline and refuse to make excuses that will lead to tremendous success and extraordinary life! After some time you will love your new lifestyle and your new yourself! You will no longer crave sugars and junk food, you will refuse to watch TV and instead go for a workout, you will no longer tolerate weak people around you, your life will never be the same again! Your self-esteem will rise up; you will place a higher value on yourself; your self-image will improve. You will become a confident, powerful, and successful person. “Self-discipline is the key to high self-esteem, self-respect, and personal pride, when you master the power of self-discipline, you will become unstoppable”, Brian Tracy.

The great oil magnate, H. L. Hunt sated: “There are only three requirements for success. First, decide exactly what it is you want in life. Second, determine the price you are going to pay to get the things you want. And third, and this is the most important, resolve to pay that price.” This statement takes us tight back to self-discipline.  Are you willing to pay the price for whatever you want to achieve in life? Are you ready to give up on excuses and rationalizations? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to win this game of life? If you answered “yes” to these questions, let’s move on.

After you have decided and clearly defined what you want out of your life, what kind of success you want to achieve, you need to find a role model, a person who achieved success in the same area of life and model him/her. Learn from experts in your field. Never stop learning and growing. Seek them out and you will be amazed at the results you’ll achieve! Oftentimes, just one idea is all you need to change the course of your life!

As you look at your physical body and you see the direct reflection of your standards, same as the person you are today is a direct reflection of the choices and decisions you have made in your life up to this date. If you are not happy with what you see, it is the time, my friends, to step up. It the time to make a decision to stop feeding  your worst enemy called procrastination, it is the time to say no more, enough is enough, and take actions towards your success!

Look deep inside yourself, dig deeper, be truthful, see if you have compromised your values for the short-term gratification. May be you do not even know your values? Successful people clearly know what their values are, what’s acceptable and what’s absolutely unacceptable while average people not sure what they want in their lives and constantly second-guess themselves. Ask yourself right now, “What my values need to be in order to create an extraordinary life and achieve great success I order to be the best person I could possibly be and to create the largest impact?”  It takes tremendous willpower and self-discipline to achieve greater things in life, to resist the “easy way” and temptations. However when you choose to do things that are not easy but right, your self-esteem and self-pride will increase. In every single area of your life things will get better and better for you.

Now is the time, my friend, to decide what exactly you want in your life, to make a decision, to take full responsibly and take a first step!

            Finnish, Latvian, and Russian people have old traditions of taking a sauna then performing some kind of cold immersion or plunge pool. Contrast showers use the same methods for people who may not have access to saunas and plunge pools, and encourage gradual adjustment between more extreme temperatures.

Contrast shower is a MUST for me every single morning! No excuses! Even when I am travelling and I am not able to perform all of my morning rituals, a shower is available everywhere! Contrast shower is one of my favorite rituals and therapies, besides increasing circulation and boosting the immune system, a contrast shower leaves me feeling energized and alive!

Using different temperatures of water provides many of the same benefits as hyperthermia: it increases circulation through various tissues, allowing better nutrition and waste disposal to take place, encourages deep detoxification, and increases overall immune functioning. It can even increase white blood cell count. The hot and cold water serve different functions, and together form a strong defense for your body.

When applied in short-bursts, the cold water decreases inflammation, helps keep you alert, and reduces constipation. Longer applications can raise strength and resistance to disease as well.  Short applications of hot water cause small blood vessels to dilate, relaxes muscles overall and raises body temperature.  In long form, applications can help eliminate toxins and encourage healing. As many of us know, water can help us relax and stay calm, as well as reduce pain. Avoid applications of hot water when treating an acute inflammatory problem.

You can try hydrotherapy in your next shower! Use hot water for three minutes, then 30 seconds of cold water, and repeat three times each shower. Be sure to end on cold water to leave you feeling invigorated and fresh.

I just love the way my favorite Dr. Schulze describes hydrotherapy. Many, many years ago he wanted to investigate hydrotherapy, so he went down to one of the last operating hydrotherapy clinics in the United States. (Dr. Schulze clarifies, that he went to a hard-core hydrotherapy clinic, not a posh-lush spa!) He wanted to experience the healing power of these great old treatments that existed years ago, before they disappeared. By the way, this miraculous healing therapy went out of vogue in America in the last century because it involved nudity, not because it did not work! In fact, it is still extremely popular in many other countries where the people live much longer and much healthier than they do in the United States.

When Dr. Schulze walked up to the clinic, he was more than astonished. There were elderly people sitting all over the porch with their heads down , looking stunned, dazed and doped-up, almost drooling on the floor. It looked like a sanitarium for the brain dead, but he still wanted to see what, if anything, they offered.

So he went in and asked for the full hydrotherapy treatment. And he got what he asked for! They put him in a hot tub and made him drink hot water. Then they took him out and put him in a shower where cold water jets hit him all over the body. Then he went to another hot tub and steam bath. Then they put him in a room and applied hot packs and ice packs all over his body. After that they laid him down on another bed for a few minutes. Finally, they put him in a wheel chair and wheeled him out to the front, where he sat with all these other people staring at the floor with drool coming out of his mouth. Now he realized that these people were not brain dead; there was nothing wrong with them. They were relaxed, physically blissed out – emotionally and spiritually healed.

You can find hydrotherapy clinics all over Europe, Russia, and Asia. As you already know, any treatment that “big pharma” cannot profit from, is not approved in the US. Now the good news… you do not have to travel overseas for this miraculous healing modality, you can perform this therapy in the comfort of your own shower!

A last inspirational story on contrast showers; it does become more tolerable and even pleasurable over time. When I started I was able to do one round only. Then slowly I began adding rounds. Now I am able to tolerate cold water for a long time and it does not really shock my body anymore. I actually love the energy and vibrancy I am getting from the cold water and every morning I am looking forward to it!

Healthy Glowing Skin.

Women oftentimes ask me how do I maintain such a radiant healthy glowing skin, considering I never wear sunscreen and do not use any creams, lotions, potions, chemical peels, etc.

First off, my skin was not always perfect. I used to suffer from bad hormonal acnes till I learned how to cleanse and nourish my body. My skin became flawless and radiant.

Again, I do not use any conventional cosmetic products on my face nor on my body. I apply coconut oil when I need to moisturize my skin, or to feel pampered after an evening bath. I apply coconut oil on my face at night and use it as a make up remover. I use Dr. Bronner’s soap for many purposes as well: shower and face cleanser are just a few of them. If you want to have different products, get them from health food store and make sure you read the labels! The more ingredients you cannot pronounce – the more toxic the product is!

Nutrition and hydration is the foundation of your skin care. Your skin is a mirror of your internal health. Dull, grey or blemished skin? You are toxic inside and need to cleanse and nourish your body. I have already discussed what your diet should be like. Now it is up to you if you implement health and vitality into your life.

You might be looking for an “easy” way out, such as prescribed antibiotics, birth control pills, steroids, and topical chemicals to fight your acne. Wrong!

Steroids are drugs prescribed by doctors to decrease inflammation in your body caused by acne bacteria. Steroids have a long list of side effects and are effective only short-term. Steroids as any other drug address only symptoms of your acne, not the root cause. Moreover, steroids are extremely toxic to your body, especially to the liver and they will cause more acne in a long run. Trust me, you have breakouts not because of steroid-antibiotic-birth-control deficiency. Your skin is breaking out because your liver, blood and lymph system are congested and desperately need to be detoxified.

Antibiotics prescribed by dermatologists are amongst the most damaging drugs possible. They disrupt your gut flora, causing Candida overgrowth. Antibiotics damage liver, GI tract and other organs and suppress immune system. Overtime any bacteria becomes antibiotic-resistant and you will end up with the worse case of acne that you began with plus damaged organs.

Birth control pills or oral contraceptives are another nightmare. Mother Nature created us women the way so we are able to give birth and reproduce. Some scientists decided to play “God” and “trick” Mother Nature. The human body is a miraculous machine capable of feasts scientists don’t even understand. If you mess with this machine you will eventually end up in health trouble.

Hormones regulate nearly every organ and body function. When you take artificial hormones, you create hormonal disbalance all over your fine tune machine. Hormones, as any other drugs, are not recognized by our bodies and they put heavy burden on liver and other detoxification organs to get rid of them. In a long run artificial hormones will disrupt your natural hormone production.

All conventional acne treatments have nothing to do with the root cause of the problem and just address the symptoms. They are destructive to your health.

You need to heal your body to heal your acne prone skin. Acne are caused by hormonal imbalance, toxic liver and blood toxins. Once you clear those organs, your acne will never return.

The first disruption occurs when your body produces too much of any hormones due to dietary deficiencies, processed foods, caffeine, and processed sugar. Same dietary habits put too much strain on your liver and instead of “deactivating” used hormones, liver is trying to detox caffeine, drugs, processed fats and other junk. Also, if your diet is SAD (Standard American Diet), your liver and gallbladder are congested with gallstones, which are slowing down hormones leaving the liver and entering your bowels to be expelled. And the last but not least problem is your bowels. If your bowels are sluggish and you do not have a bowel movement at least once a day (ideally after each meal), you are constipated! If your bowels do not move, all the toxins including used hormones are getting reabsorbed straight back into your blood stream, causing toxic blood. Your body tries hard to clean the blood and get rid of toxins as soon as possible by expelling them through your skin – this is how your acne are caused.

So, in order to have beautiful healthy skin, forget the drugs and chemical peels! Hydrate, eat clean organic plant based diet, detox and you will look fabulous!

Relationship 101 for Women.

When a relationship does not work out, your ego comes in a way. Instead of walking out of dysfunctional relationship, you start freaking out. The whole idea of someone not wanting you is eating you alive. It’s a smack in your face. You forget your truth, you forget what you really want, you just want him back. Even if you end relationship by your own choice because you are not interested anymore, as soon as he finds someone else you are consumed with jealousy and want him back. Your ego is not your truth. You will never be content by trying to satisfy your ego, its greediness will make you miserable.

The more you explore your own truth, purpose, intentions, and aspirations, the more you will discover where you had been covering up lies and fabricating excuses while suffocating your own authenticity. Seek out your truth first and men will seek you out. Introspect your own conflicts that sabotage your relationships. My biggest conflict to this day is financial independence and at the same time I want my future husband to support our family. It’s a must for me to be able to be financially free but at the same time it’s a must for my man to pay for dinners not because I am unable to afford them but because I need to feel like the woman.  It is not always logical, but this is the way I am.

Many relationship problems come from not knowing what you want and who your ideal partner is. First off, your partner does not have to be perfect, but to be perfect for you.  Secondly, do you even know who he is? Do you have a list of do’s and don’t’s in your dream man? If you don’t, create it right now! Be as specific as possible. If your current or future boyfriend does not posses top three must traits from your list or possesses at least one of the “don’t’s”, you are wasting your time. You are probably in a relationship out of desperation, because you are afraid you won’t meet someone else. You settled for someone who is not your ‘hero’. It won’t last anyways. After your passion along with ‘pink glasses’ are gone, you will wake up noticing all his negatives qualities instead of his assets and you will break it off anyways sooner or later. Do it sooner. Don’t waist your time. Don’t try to fool yourself. Let him go. Leave behind the unsustainable relationship and open your heart for a solid man to show up.

Eating Healthy at a Birthday Party!

Tonight my  Austrian friend Petra and myself went to Ki’s restraunt in a small shore town Cardiff by the Sea to meet other friends and celebrate Petra’s birthday. We all come from different walks of life — while Petra is a hypnotherapist and a flirt (!) coach (yep, you heard me right), I am a health junkie, and other 10 people are from all kinds of dynamics — no one order any alcohol or junk. We all had a cup of green tea with lemon and honey, some peeps had water with lemon (no ice of course! get rid of this destructive habit!)

Friends were ordering healthy foods, despise other “not so healthy” options on a menu. And the food was not boring! We had edamame with a “kick”, i. e. with lemon and some chili pepper; vegetarian rolls, artichoke, salads, grilled veggies, non-vegans had poached salmon and tuna.

We had absolutely amazing time without drinking, smoking, drugging, or indulging in unhealthy foods. We connected, laughed, shared great stories, shared jokes, and shared vegan gluten free chocolate cake!

You do not have to be unhealthy to have a good time! Actually the best time of your life you will have only and only if you have abundance of pure energy and clarity of mind!

Break Through Your Fear!

During my mind-blowing experience at Business Mastery with Tony Robbins in Las Vegas, I have faced my fear every single day to challenge myself and grow.

Day 1. I have stood up in from of 1, 100 people to tell my story how Tony’s ‘firewalk’ at Unleash the Power Within changed my mindset forever and i was able to recover form Lyme and all its complications. (You can read more about my journey in my book “Katrina’s Recovery” )

Day 2. I actually signed and gave my book to Tony Robbins during break! Woo-Hoo!

Day 3. Despite being introvert, I was approaching everyone to connect and get to know them! I have even got tired of repeating over and over again who I am and what I do, have no idea how extraverts do it all the time 🙂 Kudos to you , guys!!!

Day 4. Our friends Zak and Ben invited Petra and myself to watch a show in Las Vegas. We got all dressed up, dolled up, and  hight hilled to stroll Vegas 🙂 Apparently, we were “late” for the show and limo took us to the “Stratosphere” , 108 story building (855 feet). It’s the tallest building in Vegas famous for their “Sky jump”. Yes, I jumped from 855 feet building! To say i was scared is to say nothing, and it is after many times of skydiving, paragliding, and other extreme jumps. That looked just terming!!!

If you can’t — then you MUST! This is what I told myself 🙂 I had to build my emotional muscle to be able to overcome my fear and push my limits! I must say — it feels incredible on the other end!

Break through your fear and change your life!

Stop Your Sugar Addiction NOW!

If you make ONLY one change in your diet, let it be to eliminate processed sugar in any form and way.

Death by sugar may not be an overstatement—evidence is mounting that sugar is THE MAJOR FACTOR causing obesity and chronic disease. Sugar feeds cancer cells, triggers weight gain, and promotes premature aging.

Science has now shown us, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that sugar in your food, in all its myriad of forms, is taking a devastating toll on your health. The single largest source of calories for Americans comes from sugar—specifically high fructose corn syrup. Just take a look at the sugar consumption trends of the past 300 years:

  • In 1700, the average person consumed about 4 pounds of sugar per year.
  • In 1800, the average person consumed about 18 pounds of sugar per year.
  • In 1900, individual consumption had risen to 90 pounds of sugar per year.
  • In 2009, more than 50 percent of all Americans consume one-half pound of sugar PER DAY—translating to a whopping 180 pounds of sugar per year!

Sugar is loaded into your soft drinks, fruit juices, sports drinks, and hidden in almost all processed foods—from bologna to pretzels to Worcestershire sauce to cheese spread. And now most infant formula has the sugar equivalent of one can of Coca-Cola, so babies are being metabolically poisoned from day one if taking formula.

Sugar even in small amounts is detrimental. Just two teaspoons of sugar (far less than a typical soda or a bowl of cereal) has a significant hormonal and nutritional impact for several hours, throwing the body out of balance and into a state of biochemical chaos.  If you eat sugar for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, your body remains in chaos all day, every day! (You might say that you rarely or even never add any sugar to your food. Well, if you eat any baked goods – muffins, croissants, bagels, and breakfast cereals for breakfast – you eat SUGAR! If you add any ketchup, mustard, conventional salad dressings, balsamic vinegar, soups, dinner rolls, and the list goes on and on – you eat SUGAR!

Dr. William Coda Martin classified refined sugar as a poison because it has been depleted of its life forces, vitamins and minerals. “What is left consists of pure, refined carbohydrates. The body cannot utilize this refined starch and carbohydrate unless the depleted proteins, vitamins and minerals are present. Nature supplies these elements in each plant in quantities sufficient to metabolize the carbohydrate in that particular plant. There is no excess for other added carbohydrates. Incomplete carbohydrate metabolism results in the formation of ‘toxic metabolite’ such as pyruvic acid and abnormal sugars containing five carbon atoms. Pyruvic acid accumulates in the brain and nervous system and the abnormal sugars in the red blood cells. These toxic metabolites interfere with the respiration of the cells. They cannot get sufficient oxygen to survive and function normally. In time, some of the cells die. This interferes with the function of a part of the body and is the beginning of degenerative disease.”

“Refined sugar is lethal when ingested by humans because it provides only that which nutritionists describe as ‘empty’ or ‘naked’ calories. It lacks the natural minerals which are present in the sugar beet or cane.

In addition, sugar is worse than nothing because it drains and leaches the body of precious vitamins and minerals through the demand its digestion, detoxification and elimination makes upon one’s entire system. So essential is balance to our bodies that we have many ways to provide against the sudden shock of a heavy intake of sugar. Minerals such as sodium (from salt), potassium and magnesium (from vegetables), and calcium (from the bones) are mobilized and used in chemical transmutation; neutral acids are produced which attempt to return the acid-alkaline balance factor of the blood to a more normal state.

Sugar taken every day produces a continuously over-acidic condition, and more and more minerals are required from deep in the body in the attempt to rectify the imbalance. Finally, in order to protect the blood, so much calcium is taken from the bones and teeth that decay and general weakening begin. Excess sugar eventually affects every organ in the body. Initially, it is stored in the liver in the form of glucose (glycogen). Since the liver’s capacity is limited, a daily intake of refined sugar (above the required amount of natural sugar) soon makes the liver expand like a balloon. When the liver is filled to its maximum capacity, the excess glycogen is returned to the blood in the form of fatty acids. These are taken to every part of the body and stored in the most inactive areas: the belly, the buttocks, the breasts and the thighs.

When these comparatively harmless places are completely filled, fatty acids are then distributed among active organs, such as the heart and kidneys. These begin to slow down; finally their tissues degenerate and turn to fat. The whole body is affected by their reduced ability, and abnormal blood pressure is created. The parasympathetic nervous system is affected; and organs governed by it, such as the small brain, become inactive or paralyzed. (Normal brain function is rarely thought of as being as biologic as digestion.) The circulatory and lymphatic systems are invaded, and the quality of the red corpuscles starts to change. An overabundance of white cells occurs, and the creation of tissue becomes slower. Our body’s tolerance and immunizing power becomes more limited, so we cannot respond properly to extreme attacks; whether it is cold, heat, mosquitoes or microbes.

Excessive sugar has a strong mal-effect on the functioning of the brain. The key to orderly brain function is glutamic acid, a vital compound found in many vegetables. The B vitamins play a major role in dividing glutamic acid into antagonistic-complementary compounds which produce a ‘proceed’ or ‘control’ response in the brain. B vitamins are also manufactured by symbiotic bacteria which live in our intestines. When refined sugar is taken daily, these bacteria wither and die, and our stock of B vitamins gets very low. Too much sugar makes one sleepy; our ability to calculate and remember is lost.

What I am grateful for in 2012!

While spending holiday time in Aruba with my family, I am taking time as well to reflect on all my successes and not so much successes  of 2012 and to make goals for 2013.

  1. I am really grateful for my health of course! This is my biggest success and my health is beyond all other accomplishments! It feels absolutely amazing to wake up every morning with an abundance of energy, to feel joyful and happy for no reason, to be able to do anything I want in life! Yes, simple things like strolling on a beach make me happy, I do not take for granted anything anymore!

Thank you Universe for answering my prayers!

 

2. I am grateful for visiting my family in Belarus! I went to Minsk, the city I am from , after 5 year break. It was so amazing to see all my relatives and simply enjoy family time!  Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Is Your Message Empowering?

I saw your video on you tube and thought it was very empowering. Then I came to your site and see you have all these negative and scary stories like Deanna’s on there. Having been through it don’t you think one that she is still sick because of the antibiotics that she has taken?  And two because she believes she will never get better?

Just wondering what your take is on it. Because most drs say the bugs are not that virulent but the long term antibiotics are the problem. Snd the truth is they are not negligent drs saying this.  They are VERY smart people that have certainly more schooling than LLMDs!

I do have stories similar to Deanna’s just to show people that negative mindset, playing victim, and not taking any responsibility for your health will take you down. Stories of victims are there to show how different they are from people that are warriors and do get better because they have faith and they do all the can to recover. 

Mindset to Achieve Outstanding Health

Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity.

After interviewing Lyme survivors, I can reassure you that their mindset was much more important than their financial situation, family support, or even state of their immune system to begin with or level of their illness. And my goal is to teach you how to create that same mindset that will lead to outstanding health.

First off, ask yourself why is it an absolute MUST to get your health back. You have to clearly define your why, your reason. For some of you it may be your kids or your loved one. You may want to have more energy to be able to enjoy your family. For some of you it may be a particular goal that you are going to achieve as soon as you get your health back. For me it was an ABSOLUTE MUST to reclaim my health and my life – whatever it took. And the reason was because I would never settle for that low of a quality of life. I knew I had so much potential and I was hungry enough to get the breakthrough. But my main drive was not just about myself. After I got sick and was going through a living hell, I told myself I have to get better no matter what to help others with Lyme. Like everybody else I was asking myself “Why me?” when I first became sick. And my only answer was – because I HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO RECOVER in order to help others.

After you know why you MUST get your health back, it’s time to get into a state of absolute certainty that you are winning this battle WHATEVER IT TAKES! Because only a state of absolute certainty will make you take massive actions. And what action you take will define which results you get. For example John and Maya both have the same symptoms today – extreme fatigue, brain fog, headache, and depression. John whines and complains that he is sick. He takes a bag of chips and a pint of ice cream and plops down on a couch to watch TV. Maya, on the other hand, asks herself: “What can I do right now to ease my symptoms?” Maya makes fresh squeezed veggie juice and goes for hot yoga. She is not able to do it full strength, but she does what she can – stretches, practices pranayama (yogic breathing), and meditates. Results: Next morning John is even sicker and more depressed. Maya feels so much better even the same evening. Her brain fog subsided, she is not depressed anymore because she knows her condition is temporary and she is getting better day by day.  Good news for Maya; (for John it’s actually bad news) the result is cumulative. In a few months Maya is feeling so much better and she is absolutely certain she is capable of overcoming her health “opportunity”, while John lost all his hope; he is feeling worse and worse and acquiring even more destructive habits and behaviors.

In order to be able to push yourself to do something uncomfortable, you need to produce desirable results in your head. Envision yourself being healthy again, even healthier than pre-disease! Imagine what you can do with all that energy! Trust me, if you imprint this in your mind – your body will follow! Because we all have the potential to achieve enormous results but not all of us do. Why? Let me give you an example. For years, so many athletes had tried and failed to run a mile in less than four minutes that people made it out to be a physical impossibility. The world record for a mile was 4 minutes and 1.3 seconds, set by Gunder Hagg of Sweden in 1945. Because of the psychological mystique surrounding the four-minute barrier, no one was able to beat it. In Oxford, England, 25-year-old medical student Roger Bannister cracks track and field’s most notorious barrier: the four-minute mile. Bannister, who was running for the Amateur Athletic Association against his alma mater, Oxford University, won the mile race with a time of 3 minutes and 59.4 seconds. First off, as Roger explains, he had to produce results in his mind in order to create a state of certainty. When he was 100% confident in his mind he was able to break the record, his body just followed. Did he have the potential before that? Yes. But his mindset produced the results first.  Guess what happened next? All of the sudden to run a mile in less than four minutes became possible, and in the next two years 37 athletes broke the record! Believe it’s possible and your body will follow!

As Tony Robbins says, “Change your state and you change your life.”  And yes, it does apply to all of us, healthy and not so healthy yet. You can change your state in a heartbeat in so many ways and they are all so simple. The problem is that so many people are looking for the most comfortable ways to change their state without even being aware of it most of the time. People tend to overeat, munch on sugar, drink alcohol, smoke, or take a drug – like a painkiller, none of which addresses the root of the problem. It’s only a Band-Aid.  And unfortunately all of those “Band-Aids” have tragic consequences, which are cumulative, so most of us don’t even see the danger until it’s too late. That’s what happened to Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley and so many other people, and keeps happening to many more people every single day. It’s like a frog in a kettle being slowly simmered to death. If the frog had been dropped into a full boiling pot, the shock of the heat would have caused him to jump back out immediately – but with the heat slowly building up, the frog never notices he is in danger until it’s too late to get out.

Since movement can instantly change how we feel, it makes sense for us to create lots of ways to change our state. My favorites are rebounding on my mini trampoline, jogging, hot yoga or sauna and contrast showers (more on that in Part 2). Take a few minutes right now to create your ways to change your state. Make a list!

The moment you decide, “Enough!” – “No more” – “Sick and tired of being sick and tired,” and start taking massive actions, your destiny will change! You know 99% of the world’s money is being made by 1% of people, because they have conditioned their body and mind and took massive actions. Massive actions produce results… while the rest of the people tell a story of why it did not work and why it is not their fault. Same applies in all areas of our lives, especially in the most important one – health. People that recover from Lyme, cancer, all kinds of autoimmune disorders are not lucky. They do not create a story as to why they are sick and why it is not their fault. You can blame whoever you want – your doctor, your government, your insurance company, your neighbor, your luck; blame will not heal you. Absolute certainty in your recovery and taking massive action will!

I have heard a million times from people – “I am skeptical about this herb/drug/treatment. It is not FDA approved. I have never heard of this before. How come my doctor did not recommend it if it works? Doctors have to prove it to me.” Etc. You get the picture.

No, my friend, you are not skeptical, you are gutless! It takes no guts to be skeptical. You don’t have to have any capacity to be a critic. It takes guts to believe. So the idea, “they have to prove it to me” is the biggest lie. This is your fear talking. You are so scared to move out of your comfort zone, scared to be disappointed, scared to fail, that you do not even want to get your hopes up.

And last but not least, I would like to add that we all are defined by our rituals. Let’s get back to the example of John and Maya. John wakes up tired and achy which makes him very depressed and hopeless. John pops a few Tylenols to cover his aches, then he pops his Xanax to make him “happy” and after that he swallows a standard American breakfast: eggs with cheese and bacon, some hash browns, and washes it all down with coffee. Remember, the result is cumulative! John’s health deteriorates; he takes more drugs to cover his symptoms and becomes more depressed. Maya wakes up tired and achy as well, but she knows it’s temporary; she is going to beat this beast! Maya drinks a glass of water, and then she meditates and then after that goes for a light jog. Her body loosens up due to movement and her aches go away naturally. For breakfast Maya makes herself fresh squeezed green veggie juice and has a bowl of fruit salad. Results – Maya is getting better and better. A year later Maya is vibrant, energetic and fully recovered from her degenerative condition, while John is severely depressed and has developed more health problems. My personal morning ritual is: a glass of water with lemon, rebounding for 10 minutes, dry skin brushing, contrast shower (alternate hot and cold) and then a light breakfast of organic fresh made green veggie juice and a salad. Results – I assisted my body to overcome an “incurable” disease. I feel great, full of energy and excitement!

To achieve anything in life you have to have an absolute faith that you are capable of it. Produce results in your head and take massive actions. And I am here to help.
